Have there ever been times in your life when you were ready to get after it and nothing was going to get in your way? Or times in your life that you feel you weren’t making progress that you wanted to give it up?
I have. I would get ready for a new journey that I was excited about it. Then along the way, I would get distracted. Then I would feel like progress was too slow. I would put in less effort and then quit. This was a horrible habit of mine that I would battle for most of my life. Dealing with this issue, I realize that I depended on motivation to level up. If I didn’t have the motivation, then I wouldn’t continue.
Talking to so many people in my line of profession. I notice that theirs a lot of people that deal with this same issue. “I don’t feel motivated.” “I lost my motivation.”
As you and I know, motivation comes and goes. So, why depend on motivation? Why depend on something that might not be there when you need it?
Focus on building discipline and not motivation. Discipline builds confidence, self-control, health, and achieves your goals. Motivations die, but discipline lasts forever.
