Listen to your body!

The biggest fear I have is getting a bicep tear at the gym. I’ve watched so many bicep tear compilations on YouTube that it messed with my head.

A while back, I noticed that my left bicep started to get tight. I ignored it and I started to stretch it. Continuing with my intense weight loss training program. I notice that I started to get pain from my bicep up to my shoulder. It would hurt doing the pushing and pulling movements. It would even hurt sitting down. It got to the point where I couldn’t take it anymore and I called my massage therapist to help me figure out what is going on.

He did some scrapping and soft tissue work and he found out that I have bicep tendonitis. He told me if I continue to ignore the signs that my fear of suffering a bicep tear would happen. With that being said I had to stop my weight loss training program and started to rehab my injury.

Ignoring the signs your body is trying to tell you can lead you to put your fitness goals on pause. Feeling tired, aches and pains are clear signs that your body is trying to tell you something. I know that your ego can sometimes be way louder than what your body is trying to communicate to you. But put the ego to the side and start listening.
